Jamia Millia Islamia Admissions 2020: The University has extended the application deadline till September 14, according to the latest notification released by the university dated August 20, 2020. The extension of application forms has been approved by The Vice-Chancellor JMI of all university programs including Jamia Schools, Residential Coaching Academy, Foreign Nationals and NRI category.
Jamia Millia Islamia conducts entrance tests for admission to Undergraduate, M.Phil, Postgraduate and PhD as well as Diploma and Certificate Programmes. The application form deadline has been extended for all the courses including free UPSC tutoring classes that aims to support students belonging to minorities, ST, SC community, and women as well as NRI admissions.

Jamia Millia Islamia Courses 2020: New Courses Introduced This Year
This year, Jamia Millia Islamia has introduced 19 new courses which are as follows:
- Tech-2;
- PG -3 (2 MSc.+1 M Lib & Infor);
- UG-1, BSc (aeronautics);
- 3 P.G. Diploma in Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Design Thinking, Labour Law, Air and Space Law;
- 4 B Voc. (Food Production, Solar energy, Med. Lab. Sci., Medical Electrotherapy);
- Diploma in Hospitality Management (Self-financed) – Department of Tourism & Hospitality Management, in addition, 1 diploma and 4 certificate courses
JMI offers BA, BBA, B.Com, BTTM, B.Sc, BFA, B.Ed, BA-LL.B, and B.Li.I.Sc courses in various specializations in undergraduate admissions.
The university also offers Advanced Diploma, Diploma, in various streams in Part-Time and Self-Financed modes. The Advanced Diploma Courses includes:
- Counselling Psychology (Self-financed)
- Public Health
- Portuguese, Russian, French, Italian, Spanish, Turkish (all part-time)
- Modern Persian
- Modern Arabic Language and Translation
Diploma (Self-financed/Regular) includes Civil, Computer, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Disaster Management, Tourism Travel Management, Hospitality Management.

JMI Entrance Exam 2020
The JMI University conducts entrance test to shortlist candidates for admission in various PG and UG courses such as Engineering, Hospitality & Travel, Animation, Architecture & Planning, Mass Communication, Commerce Humanities & Social Sciences, as well as Teaching & Education.
The Jamia Millia Islamia entrance test is held once in a year in an offline mode. The exam duration for Mass Communication is 3 hours and for other courses, the time ranges from 1 hour 30 minutes to 3 hours.
The entrance exam consists of two sections – A and B offered at AJK Mass Communication Research Centre (MCRC). Section A comprises of multiple-choice questions wherein candidates need to answer questions from spheres such as:
- National and international political issues/personalities
- Film, television and other media
- General knowledge
- Art, literature and culture
Section B consists of descriptive questions which reflect the candidates’ critical understanding of the media.
The candidates who cleared the entrance test will appear for the interview of approximately 10-20 minutes and portfolio submission round. The portfolio includes evidence/proof of media-related work or any extracurricular activities performed.
