IGNOU launched certificate course in Mobile App Development through ODL mode

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has announced a new certificate course in mobile application development (CMAD) through open and distance (ODL) mode for learners this pandemic. This program has been fixed for the six-month course any interested students who have cleared plus 2 can apply in a given period of time.

As per the IGNOU’s brochure, “the program has five courses in total and every course will have two components assignment and term-end examination respectively. If the course is having only the theory counselling session, then there will be two components, namely, assignment and term-end examination (theory). If the course is having only practical counselling sessions, there will be two components namely, assignment, term-end examination (practical).”

The students who have cleared their plus two can apply for this course at the official website – ignou.ac.in

This course has been made to focus on the development of mobile applications, programmes using python, and a database for user requirements. The main focus of this course is to make students familiar with the demand for technology and establish their careers in the field of application marketing.

The IGNOU has already launched several of course through open and distance learning (ODL) mode. In the time of the pandemic, the demand for distance learning has increased. Many universities are launching attractive programs to fulfil the needs of students. In this way earlier launched a Master’s program in Sanskrit, Diploma in Animal Welfare, BSc in Biochemistry through open and distance learning mode.

In the time of the Covid-19 pandemic universities and governments are concern toward the students’ future so that several other facilities are being offered by the open university have been digitized including:

  1. e-Gyankosh –a national digital repository
  2. Gyanvani- an education FM radio,
  3. Gyandhar – internet audio, and contents of IGNOU’s library.

Also, IGNOU has revised guidelines for Alternative Project Work and Assignments of Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education. The online Registration for July 2020 session has been extended till 30th September 2020 without late fee.
