ICAI CA June 2020: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has released a notification that Class 12th students who have appeared for the board exams this year can provisionally register for CA Foundation course. The eligibility criteria have been relaxed in view of the COVID-19 outbreak, as a one-time measure, for such students. The class 12 students who have not appeared for all the papers can also register for CA Foundation course.
The notice states that the Competent Authority has decided to relax the eligibility criteria for the candidates who are not able to register themselves in the CA Foundation due to non-appearance in all class 12th Examination papers, as a one-time measure.
The CA Foundation courses exam, conducted by ICAI, will commence on June 27, 29 and July 1, 3, 2020, at various centres. Direct link to register for CA June 2020 Foundation Course: Click here
Due to the outbreak of the COVID -19 pandemic all over the world, the ICSE/CBSE/ State Boards have postponed Class 12th Board examinations that were about to held from March 19, 2020, and onwards.
The students who have been issued class 12 admit cards for exam and have appeared for one or more papers are eligible to provisionally register for the CA course until 30th June 2020.
Allowing provisional registration in Foundation Course of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) for students who have been allotted either admit card and/or appeared in one or more papers of Class XII Exams.

ICAI has said in a notification,
- Candidate may provisionally register in the Foundation Course on or before 30th June 2020 if he has been either allotted the admit card and/or appeared in one or more papers in the months of February/March 2020 in the Senior Secondary (10+2) Examination conducted by an examining body constituted by law in India or an examination recognized by the Central or State Government as equivalent thereto for the purpose of admission to graduation course; and
- appear in November 2020 Foundation examination after passing the (10+2) Senior Secondary examination conducted by an examining body as mentioned above.
In India, as of now dated April 7, 2020 (IST 9:00 am), there are 4,421 confirmed cases together with 114 deaths and 326 recovered.
