GMAT Candidates Are Now Allowed To Appear With ‘Aadhar Card’ As A Valid ID Proof

Candidates can also use ‘Aadhar Card’ as valid ID Proof for the online GMAT exam. GMAT exam is scheduled to be held on April 8, 2021.

The Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) today announced to accept the ‘Aadhar Card’ as valid ID proof for the GMAT online examination. Earlier, candidates were required to appear GMAT exam with a passport as a verified identity proof but now candidates can also use ‘Aadhar Card’ to verify their identity.

However, the ‘Aadhar Card’ is presently only applicable for the online GMAT exam and not for the test venue exam. For the test centre, candidates have to bring passport as a valid identity proof to verify their identity. Passport will remain the sole form of verification.

As per the official notification, “online exam appointments prior to April 8 will still require a passport for valid ID proof.”

To allow ‘Aadhar Card’ as a valid ID proof for appearing in the GMAT exam is being appreciated by all since this decision will make the registration process easier for the students. Gaurav Srivastav, Regional Director South Asia, GMAC said, ”in order to provide more candidates easier access to the GMAT exam, we have decided to permit the ‘Aadhar Card’, as a form of valid ID proof, that can be used only for the online version of the exam.”

Step to validate ‘Aadhar Card’

  1. Select the Aadhar Card option
  2. Redirect to UIDAI
  3. Download your XML file
  4. Upload the XML file and selfie image
  5. Once verification done, the aspirants will be negotiated to complete the registration process

 

GMAC also claims, “since the GMAT online version of the exam has been launched, more than 45,000 exams have been delivered in about 150 countries, territories, and special administrative regions in support of global demand.”
