NTA JEE Main 2020: Application correction process now includes the choice of cities for centre

NTA JEE Main 2020: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has allowed candidates to change their choice of exam centre city for the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main 2020 till April 14, 2020. The decision has been taken in the view of current COVID-19 situation. The Minister of Human Resource and Development (MHRD) Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank announced today (April 9, 2020) on twitter informing students about the expansion of making corrections in the application form.

Previously, the scope of making corrections in JEE application form was limited to name, fathers’ name, photo/image, paper, category, language, aadhaar number, date of birth, communication address, and contact number. Before this press release, students were not allowed to making any edits on exam city, additional fees and examination mode.

The candidates can make online application corrections on the website https://jeemain.nta.nic available up to April 14, 2020. The corrections will be accepted up to 5:00 pm and submission of additional fees up to 11:50 pm which can be paid through Credit/Debit Card/Netbanking/UPI and PAYTM.

The additional fees are charged when students change their category from SC/ST/PwD/Girls to General/OBC NCL and opt for Paper 2 in addition to Paper 1.

The candidates who have opted for all 3 JEE Main 2020 papers but now want to appear in any of the one or two papers will not receive any refund of fees. The exam is held on two shifts: the first shift is from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm while the second shift is from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

The administration will make all possible efforts to allow the city of examination as per the candidate’s choice, according to the notification, but if the available capacity in the desired city exceeds its limit, the NTA can allot a different city to the students and in this regard, NTA decision would be considered as final.

For NEET 2020, no change in exam centre has been allowed by NTA for now.

In India, as of now dated April 9, 2020 (IST 4:52 pm), there are 5,734 confirmed cases together with 166 deaths and 473 recovered.
