Kendriya Vidyalayas To Introduce AI Courses from 2020-21 session onwards

The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) in collaboration with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and Intel will be introducing Artificial Intelligence (AI) courses in Class 8 from the academic year 2020-21 onwards. KVS has asked all the schools to enrol with the CBSE for introducing the artificial intelligence courses and therefore no registration fee will be charged for registration and affiliation of this course in Class 8.

The Principals of all Kendriya Vidyalaya are requested to enrol their Vidyalaya with CBSE before 30th June 2020 by using the link: https://forms.gle/RLZgmswjbYbYbmBXvLRA. The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan has also directed schools to make 12 hours provision in the curriculum for teaching Artificial Intelligence courses.

In the teacher training process, KVS has said that Initially 100 Kendriya Vidyalayas were selected for introducing Artificial Intelligence course and 2 teachers from each Vidyalaya were trained at ZIErs along with Training Associates. The training process was under the guidance and supervision of Director ZIETs. The training was conducted by INTEL, the Technology Company and CBSE. Now these 198 trained teachers (Phase I), Training Associates of ZIET, Intel representatives will conduct further online training of teachers teaching class VIII which will be conducted in parallel phases.

And therefore, KVS has asked all the Vidyalayas to send the list of the teachers who will be teaching AI the courses in schools on e-mail i.d. dcacadOlkvshq@grnail.com with copy endorsed to KVS (HQ) to the concerned Deputy Commissioner, Regional Office.

Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) is the autonomous body under which KVs function. Artificial Intelligence course is being introduced to ensure that the next generation is ready for the future with new-age skills.
