Google announces Camp Google 2020 for students to acquire digital skills

Camp Google 2020 by Google offers a range of activities for students and learners to help them acquire digital skills while sitting at home in times of social distancing. The activities include real-world projects with virtual learning experiences, thus making the whole learning process interesting. The platform is generally made for the kids-guiding them to be good digital citizens.

The lifestyle has changed and therefore this had a huge impact on the physical activities, since the COVID-19 outbreak. Therefore, the programme makes the best use of Augmented Reality (AR) that help kids experience a wide range of activities from crafting a wildlife story using AR animals in Search to a virtual journey. The kids will also explore the rich traditions and craft on Google Arts and Culture platform.

The children will also learn about India’s natural resources with a piece of knowledge as to how to preserve them on Google Earth. The learners also get an opportunity to introduce to the world of programming with Scratch. There will be something new and exciting to learn each and every day. The assignments include objective and subjective type questions.

This competition is open to children between the age group 8-16 years, studying in any school in India and holding Indian nationality. The last date for submission for all assignments is July 20, 2020. To enter the competition, visit the website

The course is of two weeks that started from yesterday, July 1, on the Camp Google 2020 website; there will be five assignments along with a set of instructions that kids can access, that will answer “how-to” questions. The assignments will also include how to stay safe online to kids. Painting, storytelling, writing, arts & crafts, coding and cooking are some skills included in the website.

Virtual sessions will also be conducted by the company by leading experts in psychology to motivate and inspire kids and give them something to aspire to in these times. Children will stand a chance to win prizes at the end of the camp. Along with the prizes, the winners will get an opportunity to attend a masterclass
