British Council Announced Scholarship Program For Women To Pursue The STEM Course

The main aim is to increase the involvement percent of women and girls in STEM subjects as per the UNESCO report, there is less than 30 % women are availing these subjects for higher studies.

The British Council has launched a scholarship program in partnership with 19 UK universities to provide the benefit to the women. These scholarship programs aim at benefiting women from America, South Asia, and South-East Asia in order to secure their careers and empower women.

Course offers master’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) in the United Kingdom.

This scholarship program specially design for women with a background in STEM, who can demonstrate their need for financial support and who wish to inspire future generations of women to pursue careers in STEM.

The British council scholarship for women in stem aims to assist over 100 women from India and 19 other countries to obtain their advanced degree from a UK University. Women from countries in South Asia, America, and South East Asia can apply for the STEM course.

“The scholarship is also open to women with dependants to apply and contains a provision for scholars they might need a short pre-sessional English course to achieve the language label needed to undergo their studies,” an official statement reads.

The scholarship programs include a tution fee, a monthly stipend, health expenses, travel costs, visa fee, and other pertinent allowances.

  4. Along with the tution fee, candidates will be offered health coverage fee visa cost, travel expenses etc.

 

Candidates who are interested in applying for programs and belong to South Asian counties will have to apply directly to a university of preference out of the nine specified universities. The universities which offer the program are- Teesside University, University of Strathclyde, Newcastle University, City University of London, University of Warwick, University of Edinburh,  Brunel University, and Edinburgh Napier University.

Applicants can apply for the Scholarship program till mid-march 2021.
