The Sensex reached a new peak of 56 thousand during Wednesday’s trading. This is the biggest ever score of Sensex. With this, the total market capitalization of companies listed in the Sensex has crossed Rs 242 crore. The 30-share BSE Sensex rose 312.44 points to 56,104.71 during early trading. The Sensex has registered gains for the fifth consecutive trading session. Riding on this sentiment in the market, the market cap of BSE listed companies reached Rs 242 crore.
HDFC Bank shares rise
In its previous session, the Sensex had gained 209 points and reached 55,792 points. With this, the total assets of the investors have increased to Rs 5,33,192.73 crore. Meanwhile, shares of HDFC Bank rose up to 3 percent today. However, later there was a decline in it.
In other Asia markets, shares of Shanghai, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Seoul were trading with gains in the mid-session. Meanwhile, international oil benchmark Brent crude was trading 0.25 per cent higher at $69.20 per barrel. Tech Mahindra, Asian Paints and Hindustan Unilever were among the top gainers in the Sensex on Tuesday, while IndusInd Bank, HDFC Bank and Mahindra & Mahindra were among the top losers.
