Link Aadhaar and PAN by 30 September 2021

The deadline for linking Aadhaar and PAN was set by the government on 30 June 2021. After which, in view of the increasing cases of the second wave of Covid, it has been extended to 30 September 2021. At the same time, it has been clarified by SBI that now people will have to link their Aadhaar and PAN cards to take advantage of the banking facility.

Rs 10,000 fine may be charged

At present, in the case of non-linking of Aadhar card and PAN card, the customer may have to pay a fine. In case of a PAN card being inactive, a late fee of Rs 1000 will have to be paid to make it active. At the same time, in case of a PAN card being inactive, your card will not be considered. Due to which a fine of up to 10,000 can be imposed on the customer under section 272B of the Income Tax Department Act.

If a person does not link his Aadhaar and PAN card before 30 September 2021, then his PAN card will become inoperative. Due to which he may have to be deprived of many types of banking facilities.
