Prices of LPG cylinder to get cheaper from April 1

The new financial year 2021-22 is bringing relief for the common people. Domestic LPG cylinder prices are going to come down from April 1. LPG cylinders will be cheaper by 1 April i.e. Thursday. Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) gave this information on Wednesday evening. Government oil and gas companies also increased the price of LPG in March.

Talking about the March month price of the LPG cylinder, Indane’s 14.2 kg non-subsidized cylinder has been priced at Rs 819 in Delhi, Rs 845.50 in Kolkata, Rs 819 in Mumbai and Rs 835 in Chennai. At the same time, the price of 19 kg cylinder of Indane is Rs. 1614 in March, Rs. 1681.50 in Kolkata, Rs. 1563.50 in Mumbai and Rs. 1730.50 in Chennai.

IOCL issued a press release saying, “Since November 2020, the prices of crude oil and petroleum products have been steadily increasing in the international market. India is more dependent on imports in terms of crude oil and prices are associated with the market. The increase in international prices results in an increase in the domestic prices of petroleum products.

IOCL continued, “However, due to concerns over the increase in cases of Covid-19 in Europe and Asia and the side effects of the vaccine, the prices of crude oil and petroleum products in the international market have softened in the second fortnight of March 2021.”

IOCL said that the oil companies have reduced the prices of diesel and petrol in Delhi by 60 paise and 61 paise per litre respectively within the last few days. IOCL said that the price of domestic LPG cylinder in Delhi has been reduced by Rs 10 per cylinder from Rs 819 per cylinder to Rs 809 per cylinder. The new rate will come into effect from April 1, 2021. This reduction in price will also happen in other cities.
