PM Modi Launched “Garib Kalyan Yojna” to encourage livelihood of migrant workers and rural citizens.

On 20th June 2020 at 11 am on video conferencing Pm Narendra Modi launched an Abhiyan “Garib Kalyan Yojna” to encourage the livelihood of rural areas and also aims to help the migrant workers who were left jobless after coronavirus lockdown from March. This Abhiyan was launched from Telihar, Block- Beldaur of Khagaria District of Bihar. Further, there was the Chief Ministers of other five States and Union Ministers of concerned Ministries who also participated during virtual launch.

Here’s are key points said during Video conferencing meetings for ” Garib Kalyan Yojna” scheme.

Under this yojana 116 districts with more than 25,000 migrant workers from six states Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand and Odisha have been chosen for the campaign which includes 27 Aspirational Districts. Choosing these districts because it covers around 2/3 migrant workers of India.

 

This Abhiyaan will be organised among 12 different Ministries and Departments, such as Rural Development, Panchayati Raj,    Petroleum & Natural Gas, New & Renewable Energy, Border Roads, Telecom and Agriculture,Transport, Highways, Mines, Drinking Water & Sanitation, Environment, Railways.

 

Garib Kalyan Yojna will run for 125 days, which will work in mission mode.

All type of profession of migrants worker will get work under this scheme, mapping of skilled workers has been also done. Women will also be linked with self-help groups so that they are able to get maximum items for their family.

 

This scheme will provide to ensure proper usage of the strength and skill of our people, it will also convert the Coronavirus crisis into an opportunity.
