For the fourth time petrol rise by 40 paise per litre and diesel by 45 paise.

On Wednesday for the fourth time price of petrol and diesel changed. The petrol price was rises by 40 paise whereas diesel was increased by 54 paise. On Tuesday after the oil PSUs ended 82 days hiatus in rate revision the petrol price saw an increase of 54 paise per litre while diesel price was hiked by 58 paise a litre.

 

According to price notification of state oil marketing companies in Delhi Petrol price was hiked to Rs 73.40 per litre from 73.00, while diesel rates were increased to Rs 71.62 a litre from Rs 71.17.

On Sunday and Monday both days prices of petrol and diesel both were raised by 60 rupees. Even in all petrol price has rise up by Rs 1.74 per litre and diesel by Rs 1.78 a litre in three days.

On March 14 raised in excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs 3 per litre each Oil PSUs such as Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) had put daily price revisions on hold soon after the government decision.

Because of increase in excise duty oil companies facing huge loss that is why the rate of petrol and diesel hike.
