Finance Minister’s visit to Mumbai: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will be on a two-day visit to Mumbai from today, where she will interact with several stakeholders of Maharashtra on post-budget issues. This visit of the Finance Minister is considered important as it will meet industry stalwarts of Maharashtra as well as big taxpayers.

Talks will start today at 10.30 am
The Finance Ministry said in a Twitter post (sic), “Finance Minister will interact with the stakeholders of Maharashtra, industry and business, large taxpayers and select professionals after Budget 2022.” The post said that the conversation will start at 10.30 am on Monday. Finance Minister has spoken to many industry bodies in Delhi. The FY-23 budget raised capital expenditure by 35.4 per cent to Rs 7.5 lakh crore to continue the public infrastructure plan, which in turn will create new jobs in the economy besides crowding out private participation through investments. Nirmala has already interacted with various industry bodies in Delhi since her budget speech on February 1. Apart from this, she has clearly told many issues related to the budget.

Second phase of budget session next month
The first phase of the budget session of Parliament has been completed and now its second phase will be held from March 14. Before this, the Finance Minister will have meetings with several industry chambers and there will be consultations on post-budget development works.
