Amid the on going pandemic Flipkart recruited 23,000 employees

Homegrown e-commerce marketplace Flipkart said on Tuesday that, amid the Corona epidemic, it has hired 23,000 people across the country in the last three months. According to Flipkart, from March to May 2021, it hired 23,000 people across the country in various capacities across its supply chain, including delivery executives. The statement issued by the company said that this hiring was done in view of the increasing demand for e-commerce services across the country.

Supply chain increases as demand for e-commerce services increases

Hemant Badri, Senior Vice President of Supply Chain at Flipkart, says that people are staying at home to avoid Covid infection, due to which demand for e-commerce services across the country has increased and that is why our supply chain too increased, which is creating thousands of employment opportunities.

Hemant Badri also states, “New employees will be covered with our healthcare and wellness initiative to ensure their safety during the period of training time”.

The company also runs training programs for direct hiring

The company has also said in a statement that it is also running a training program to direct hire for the supply chain. It has also been said to increase their understanding of supply chain management through a mix of classroom and digital training. This training is done through mobile applications such as WhatsApp, Zoom, and Hangout as well as Flipkart’s own learning management system.
