7th Pay Commission: Central Govt Announces Holi Gift For Employees Based in Mathura And Vrindavan

The central government has given Holi gift to centeral govt employees . As part of the 7th Pay Commission recommendations, the Central Government has planned a big gift for the government employees who are based in Mathura and Vrindavan.

The Central Government has planned to double the House Rent Allowance (HRA) of the central government employees who are posted in Mathura and Vrindavan.  The move from the government comes after the category of Mathura and Vrindavan got upgraded from Z category to Y category.

According to one earlier order from the Central government, the Uttar Pradesh Government has included Mathura and Vrindavan to the municipal corporation list as population in these two areas has increased. Because of the population rise, Mathura and Vrindavan have come under the Y category cities instead of its existing Z category city. Hence, their HRA norm will be updated just like that of the HRA norm of the armed forces and para-military force.

The Central government employees who are posted in X category city receive maximum HRA of 24 per cent of their basic salary. And in similar manner, government employees under the Y category receive 16 per cent HRA of their basic salary. On the other hand, Z category city employees receive 8 per cent HRA of their basic salary.

After Mathura and Vrindavan were included in Z category, central government employees posted here will not receive 16 per cent HRA of their basic salary which was earlier 8 per cent only.
