4.5 crore out of 6.26 Income Tax returns settled Refund of Rs 1.71 lakh crore

The Income Tax Department has settled 4.5 crore out of 6.26 crore Income Tax Returns (ITRs) filed for the assessment year 2021-22. Income Tax Department has given this information. Income Tax said that out of 6.26 crore Income Tax Returns (ITRs) filed, 5.41 ITRs have been verified.
The Income Tax Department has issued 1.58 crore refunds of Rs 31,857 crore out of 4.5 crore ITRs for the 2021-22 assessment year. The Income Tax Department said in a tweet that so far in the current financial year, refunds worth Rs 1.71 lakh crore have been issued to 1.97 crore taxpayers. These include income tax refund of Rs 63,234 crore and corporate tax refund of Rs 1.08 lakh crore.
“More than 29.8 lakh Tax Audit Reports filed on ITD’s e-Filing portal as on 15th February, 2022. On the last day, over 4.14 lakh Tax Audit Reports/Statutory Forms have been filed. ITD acknowledges the efforts of our taxpayers & professionals in fulfilling the compliances on time,” tweeted Income Tax Indian.
The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) said in a statement that till February 15, 2022, 29.8 lakh Tax Audit Reports (TARs) have been filed on the Income Tax Department’s e-return filing portal. 4.14 Tax Audit Reports (TARs) have been filed on the last day on 15th February 2022. The Income Tax Department has also thanked the tax professionals and taxpayers.
