Back in 2007 when Pulsar 220 was launched, it was rage and it sold well to date. Now Bajaj has launched Pulsar 220 F. They have added many refreshments to the bike to make it look fresh….fresh graphics, new engine guard, 17-inch alloy wheels & the exhaust has a matt black attestment. Though it looks fresh, the iconic look has been maintained as many people like the way Pulsar 220 looks. For example, at the back, the legendary Bajaj’s twin-tail design remains the same. The instrument cluster has been redesigned. Bajaj Pulsar 220 F has a blue backlight and comes with several features like odometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, twin trip meter. It still hasn’t got the gear indicator.

Brakes:-

It already came with disc brakes on both wheels and therefore had good control over that kerb weight of 155 kg. Bajaj Pulsar 220 F still comes with the same 260 mm ventilated disc in front and 240 mm ventilated disc in the rear but also has a single-channel ABS. It’s a good initiative by Bajaj as it ensures more safety.

Engine:-

Powering the Bajaj Pulsar 220 F is the 220cc single cylinder engine which generates 20.93 PS of power @8500 rpm and 18.5 Nm of torque @ 7000 rpm. It has a 5-speed gearbox that is smooth and refined. It has a punchy performance and the acceleration is good. Torque spreads very linearly but it starts losing power post 9000 rpm. Combining this all, you get a decent performing engine which makes it possible to hit that 100 kmph mark in 11.37 seconds. It can go up to 134 kmph.

Bajaj Pulsar 220 F has a good sitting posture with a seat height of 795 mm. the split seats add to the comfort of a pillion rider. It has a relaxed riding triangle. Considering it’s a 220 cc engine, those figures are quite impressive and it makes this bike a perfect balance of power, posture, a good riding angle, and mileage. It has a fuel tank with a capacity of 15 liters which gives it a range of about 500 kilometers.

It was long overdue and it was bound to happen. All the two-wheelers were getting an ABS update. it was just a matter of time before SR 150 got one too. Everybody’s talking about electric vehicles. Politicians, Industrialists, people who are against pollution, all are talking about electric vehicles so, here it is. India’s first electric SUV, the Hyundai Kona. Now, if this car looks familiar to you. It’s because you might have already seen a regular Kona that comes in petrol and diesel. India gets an electric version.

It has a different face, no grills because there is no radiator as there is no I.C. engine under the hood rather it has a charging port there that opens only when the car is unlocked. Headlamps are placed down below the all-time running LED lamps. Same as the, front the rear tail-lights, indicators are also housed down below. It has a bit of a rugged look to it because of the body cladding. The wheels look as if they are from some concept car.

This car looks a bit futuristic but not so out of place as if it is screaming that it is an electric car. Inside also it looks familiar to a high-end Hyundai car other than there is no gear lever popping out of the center console. It operates on four buttons. Build quality, product finish is top-notch giving it a premium feel. It gets an electric parking brake, wireless charging port for smartphones, heated and cooled seats, electrically adjustable seats, electric sunroof. But everything is not that good on Kona. It isn’t that big, actually shorter than Venue. The boot space is only 332 liters which is bit of a disappointment.

Hyundai Kona has a 39.2 KWH Li-On battery which generates 136 P.S of power and 395 Nm of torque. It charges fully in about 6 hours with the complementary wall-mounted charger. It also gets a portable charger that can charge it to the range of 50 kms in under 3 hours and it can be plugged anywhere. D.C fast charging is also available in Hyundai stores and selected fuel pumps that can charge it fully in under 1 hour. You need to have no range anxiety as it can go up to 452 kms once charged fully.

 

 

The paddle shifters on this car does not change gears as there are no gears on it. They alter regenerative breaking that can be adjusted to 4 levels. You can simply brake using left paddle shifter, just hold it continuously and the vehicle stops. So you can actually control this car by just accelerator and a paddle shifter. How cool is that! It has no vibrations and is very refined. It’s a stable car and the brakes are fantastic too.

Hyundai Kona is priced at 25.3 lakhs but electric vehicles are generally more expensive than I.C. engine cars.

It is 2019 and Suzuki Gixxer SF is back with some major updates. This bike has an all-new body wok and wide LED headlamps. IT has a neat looking LED tail lamp as well. At a glance it has that big bike feel to it. The standard handlebars have been replaced by low Clipon handlebars affecting the rider’s ergonomics.

  •  The new Suzuki Gixxer SF still has the same 154.9 ccs single-cylinder engine that delivers 14.1  hp @ 8000 rpm and produces 14 Nm of torque @ 6600 rpm. The engine has a good refinement and works pretty smooth. Nowadays engines are made under BS6 norms to make them environment-friendly. This engine has also lost 1 horsepower to the good cause. The power comes in very linear but the engine does feel a little stressed after 7500 rpm.

  • Despite all the fairings that this bike has, it is pretty light and weighs 146 kgs. The braking duties are done by Bybre 310 mm single disc brake on the front which also gets an ABS that works pretty good. The rear wheel has a 240 mm disc by Bybre but has no ABS which is a bit of a disappointment for a country that extensively uses rear brakes.
  • The Suzuki  Gixxer SF wears 100/80 R17 at the front and a 140/60 R17 at the rear. The rear tyre is the same as on Yamaha FZ V3.O or Honda Hornet. Pretty wide!
  • Gixxer SF has a comfortable seat that has 795 mm of height. It has a decent mileage of about 40-42 kmpl. The fuel tank has a capacity of 12 liters which gives you a range of about 500 kms . New Suzuki Gixxer SF also comes with a new information console which is pretty informative and clean. It is also less clumsy than the console which was on the old Suzuki Gixxer SF.
  • Suspensions are on the harder side considering it will run on Indian roads. The stiff suspensions help while handling but the bike but the will make you bounce a bit of a bad patch. Suzuki Gixxer SF has an aggressive riding position so with the stiff suspension it becomes a bit tiring on bad roads. Considering all that new Suzuki Gixxer SF is a good beginner bike.
  • Suzuki Gixxer is priced at Rs 1.10 lakh. Competition to it comes from Hero’s newly-launched Xtreme 200 S which is priced at Rs 98,500

KTM adds its new version of the RC to the Orange family, the “RC 125”. A few months ago we saw KTM Duke 125. That thing sure did shake us and gave us entry to the existing orange world. It has got fairings now. That is bound to make the motorcycle more exciting.

The new KTM RC 125 has a committed riding position and therefore it is an exciting option compared to its other versions. Although the all-new 124.7 cc engine does not make it boringly slow at all and it promises a top speed of 116 km/hour on the track. It is heavier than the Duke 125 by 12 kg which affects its acceleration. The RC 200 and RC 390 are the best track motorcycles of their respective segments.

The RC 125 is a bit slower but that makes it more manageable that makes it a good bike for your 1st track outing. It has the same suspension and chassis as the bigger RC. The all-digital instrument cluster looks fantastic and works perfectly.

KTM has stressed importance when it comes to safety by adding the Anti Lock Braking System (ABS) feature to this version of the RC. The KTM RC 125 as of now has been revealed in two different color schemes, an Orange-Black combination and Orange-White combination.
