Maharashtra government issues SOP for people coming from Europe, West Asia, South Africa

In view of the new strain of Coronavirus, the Maharashtra government has announced a night curfew in the municipal areas from 11 am to 6 am till 5 January. In addition, those coming from Europe and the Middle East will have to stay in the Institutional Quarantine for 14 days. Whereas, those coming back from other countries will have to quarantine indoors.

As a precaution after the new type of coronavirus has emerged in the UK, the Maharashtra government has issued Standard operating procedure (SOP) for passengers coming from Europe, West Asia and South Africa.

According to the SOP issued by the government on Monday, “All the officers and employees of the airport should be told that every person coming from the places where new coronavirus is found should be seen as a new type of carrier of Coronavirus and they should be checked accordingly.” ‘

The SOP states that all travellers coming from these countries must remain in the 14-day paid institutional quarantine. The home quarantine will not be allowed.

The government appeals to the people about Christmas

 Because of the Coronavirus crisis, State Home Minister Anil Deshmukh has requested people to celebrate the Christmas festival in a simple way. According to the guidelines issued by the government, the maximum 50 people should be present in the church on the occasion of Christmas.

Night curfew (from 11 am to 6 am) has been imposed with certain guidelines from 22 December to 5 January in many areas of Maharashtra including Pune.

What will be allowed during the night curfew?

All types of emergency services will be allowed during the night curfew. There will be no restriction on the supply of essential things like vegetables, milk and medicines. More than five people should not be present in one place between 11 am and 6 am.

Which things will not be allowed?

All markets and shops except medical stores will be closed at 11 pm.

All types of traffic except emergency will also be banned.
