Haryana Government To Reopen Schools From Today, Monday For 10 & 12 Classes

To attend the schools, students need to submit a medical certificate not older than 72 hours which claims that their general health is fine and they do not have any symptoms.

Haryana schools will reopen from today, December 14, 2020, for students of classes 10 and 12 appearing for board examination next year, and the authority said that for classes 9 and 11, schools will reopen from December 21.

It is notified to the students of classes 10 and 12 from both government and private schools will be permitted to attain their classes for three hours between 10 am and 1 pm daily. The government took the decision to reopen school by considering that it will help students to focus on their study as a board exam will be held.

Students of classes 10 and 12 need more guidance and in-place classes to clear their doubts. It’s been more than 8 months since schools are closed due to nationwide lockdown which adversely impacting students’ education and mental status.

According to the recent statement made by the Directorate of School Education, “Students, Teachers, and Non-Teaching Staff will have to go through temperature checks on the daily basis for the safety of the people and those who will be found any symptoms like fever, cough will not be allowed to attain the schools sessions.”

To attain the classes students have to submit their health declaration medical certificate not older than 72 hours stating that their general health is fine and they do not have any coronavirus like symptoms.

Before visiting schools, all the students will need to go for a free medical check-up at their nearest Community Health Center, Primary Health Center, or where a doctor will examine them and provide a medical certificate, it added.

Apart from this, students will also have to bring written consent from their parents. School will follow all COVID-19 related protocol, the statement orders.

Haryana Government had earlier reopened the schools for the students of classes 9 to 12 but due to the rising cases of COVID-19, they ordered for the closure of schools.

The Home Ministry earlier gave states and UT the right to open schools as per their status, it is up to State Government that they want to permit schools to reopen or not. After the flexibility, some state gave permission to reopen educational institutions while some have not reopened yet.

Over 150 students from three Haryana districts- Rewari, Jind, and Jhajjar – had tested positive for the COVID-19 last month after which all the schools had been closed until further orders.
