Tokyo Summer Olympics 2020: The biggest and the most significant event in the world of sports, Olympics, will be hosted by Tokyo, Japan, in the year 2020. Scheduled to commence from 24th of July 2020 the will go on till on 9th of August 2020. Exactly after 56 years, this will be the second time, the first in 1964, that Tokyo will be the host to the 32nd edition of the Olympic Games. Tokyo now becomes the first Asian city to host the Summer Olympics twice.  

This edition of Olympics will mark the debut of some new disciplines in the already existing games like 3×3 basketball, freestyle BMX and Madison cycling. Karate, sport climbing and skateboarding will make their Olympic debuts whereas games like baseball and softball (which were removed from the summer program after 2008) will be restored this time. 

33 different sports will be played with more than 50 disciplines therefore the total number of events will be 339.  

Emblem  

The Emblem of the games is as important as the games. In the Japanese Tradition, chequered patterns are not only popular but they also have a historical significance therefore Harmonized chequered was finalized as the emblem for the 32nd edition of Olympic games. The color of indigo blue expresses a refined elegance and sophistication that exemplifies Japan. Composed of three varieties of rectangular shapes, the design represents different countries, cultures and ways of thinking. It incorporates the message of “unity in diversity”. It also expresses that the Olympic and Paralympic Games seek to promote diversity as a platform to connect the world.

Olympics Game 2020 Venues 

As far as the venues are concerned, Tokyo has been divided into two different zones namely: The Heritage Zone and the Tokyo Bay zone. While the Heritage Zone, is the primary and the most important zone, comprises of 11 different venues, 17 venues come under the Tokyo Bay Zone.The complete list of the venues where the games will be hosted is given below.
