MNS office attacked after BJP worker opposed Raj Thackeray ’s remarks

BJP member’s office was attacked after he opposed MNS chief Raj Thackeray’s statement regarding burning auto rickshaws. After this attack by unknown people, MNS office based in Mumbai’s Goregaon area has been attacked by the BJP workers. The attackers claimed that it was organized to take revenge of last night’s attack on the BJP office.

A BJP activist said, “Today’s attack on MNS office by BJP members was to retaliate yesterday’s incident.” The attack on the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena office has added new tensions to the controversy regarding the auto rickshaw permit in Mumbai. Nitin Sardesai, MNS’s senior leader and legislator confirmed the development to the press.

Sardesai informed that he is on the way to Dindoshi, a location in north Mumbai, to assess the situation on ground and see what exactly happened there. The police sources said that the both cases of the attack are being investigated now. Officer from Kurar police station said that no arrests have been made so far in this matter.

Raj Thackeray’s statement about burning auto rickshaw sparked national outrage last week. The MNS leader told its workers to burn down the new auto rickshaws.” When you see any new rickshaws with new number plates, stop them, take the passenger and driver out of the vehicle and burn the rickshaws,” he said.

He also criticized the new permit issuing system. The MNS chief had directed the worker to keep pursuing the Marathi agenda. He also accused administration for corruption while purchasing 70,000 new auto rickshaws.

But after the negative publicity received by the campaign, Raj Thackeray decided to cancel the agitation against new rules. MNS leader Shirish Sawant said that there won’t be any action taken regarding the auto rickshaws as the agitation has been called off by Raj Thackeray.

These attacks are going to increase tensions between Raj Thackeray led MNS and BJP in Mumbai.
