Asus Zenfone V launched with 23 MP camera and Snapdragon 820

Asus, Taiwan smartphone manufacturer, has launched its new Zenfone smartphone in the U.S market, called Asus Zenfone V. It is a Verizon Exclusive phone and this is not a rebadged or renamed version of an existing smartphone. It’s a new smartphone that comes with a V520KL model number.

Asus Zenfone V features a 5.2-inch AMOLED display with 1080 x 1920 pixels of resolution. The screen of the phone is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass along with oleophobic coating which protects the screen from accidental scratches and fingerprints respectively. It also comes with multi-touch functionality up to 10 fingers and Tru2life technology for outdoor readability and better contrast.

The Zenfone V is powered by Quad-core CPU which clocks at 2.2 GHz under the hood along with Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset. There are only a few smartphones from the company that comes with Snapdragon 820 chipset on board, including Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe and now the Zenfone V. It has 4 GB of RAM on board and 32 GB internal storage option along with micro SD card support up to 256 GB.

The Zenfone V is featured with a 23-megapixel camera on the back side with f/2.0 aperture, OIS, auto-focus and Dual LED flash. It comes with an 8-megapixel camera on the front side for selfies and video calls with f/2.0 aperture. The Zenfone V is packed with 3,000 mAh battery inside the body and runs on Android 7.1 Nougat operating system out of the box along with Asus ZenUI 3.0 running on top. It has a fingerprint sensor on the front embedded on the home button.

The body dimensions of the phone are 5.77 x 2.86 x 0.3 inches and weighs 147 grams. The Zenfone V will be available in the market in only one color for now, Sapphire Black. It comes with Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, GPS/ A-GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, 4G VoLTE, Micro USB and Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity features. It has an accelerometer, e-compass, gyroscope, hall, RGB, IR and ambient on board.

Asus Zenfone V is listed on the Asus’s official website, for now, there is no confirmation or any announcement from the Verizon for the phone, yet. However, there is no detail about the price and availability of the phone in the market.
