The Mark Zuckerberg just did one amazing thing to support Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Digital India campaign.  The co-founder of Facebook changed his profile picture in a shades of Indian tricolour to promote Digital India. Mr. Narendra Modi also followed this by changing his profile picture using same link.  Prime Minster is currently on an official visit to California, where headquarters of all global technology giants are located. He is scheduled to visit the Facebook’x headquarter. Mr. Modi will attend town hall meeting and Q&A session there.

“I changed my profile picture to support Digital India, the Indian government’s effort to connect rural communities to the internet and give people access to more services online. Looking forward to discussing this with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Facebook today. Show your support for Digital India at fb.com/supportdigitalindia, “Zuckerberg said in a Facebook post.

Prime Minister thanked Mark Zuckerberg for all support in a Facebook post and said, “”Thanks Mark Zuckerberg for the support. I changed my DP in support of the efforts towards a Digital India. Your too can change your DP at fb.com/supportdigitalindia.”

Facebook currently has 1.5 billion users worldwide and plans to expand its user base. Prime Minister’s Digital India campaign aims to connect rural areas in India with internet and it is obviously going to help Facebook’s market expansion in India.

Last time similar campaign was run by Facebook to support US Supreme court’s decision on marriage equality. The users turned their display pictures in rainbow theme to show the support.
